Champion Timber’s bespoke mouldings service required in-branch visits for pricing and feasibility assessments, relying on specialist staff to manually evaluate samples. While this ensured precision and quality, it also created bottlenecks—only certain branches with the right expertise could provide quotes, leading to delays and limiting the service’s scalability.
To enhance operational efficiency and improve service consistency across all locations, Champion Timber sought a solution that would allow any branch to quickly generate accurate quotes without relying on the presence of an in-house expert.
The solution
Champion Timber’s AI transformation began with an AI Opportunity Discovery session, where we explored high-impact areas for innovation.
This strategic workshop identified AI-powered scanning and computer vision as a solution to standardise and streamline the quoting process.
In collaboration with Geeks, we undertook a Solution Design phase to map out the user experience and technical workflows, ensuring the tool would integrate into branch operations.
Using advanced AI and machine learning models, we developed a prototype that enables branch staff to scan or upload customer moulding drawings, instantly generating a quote and verifying compatibility with Champion Timber’s cutting machinery.
This tool empowers all branches to provide expert-level pricing, reducing wait times and increasing accessibility to bespoke mouldings.
